To make the most of your recovery sessions, here are 10 friendly tips to consider:
- Listen to your body: Your session should always feel comfortable, never painful or unpleasant.
- Optimal session duration: Aim for a session length of 30 to 50 minutes. While longer sessions are possible, the extra benefits tend to level off after a while.
- Adjust to your ideal pressure: More pressure isn’t always better. Start with a lower pressure and gradually increase it in future sessions. Your leg size can influence the right pressure; those with thinner legs might need a bit more. Remember, everyone feels pressure differently.
- Use the deactivatable chambers if needed: You can turn off certain compression chambers to avoid sensitive areas. If your Flowell is a bit too large, consider turning off the top chamber.
- Keep your legs horizontal: For the best results, try to keep your legs as horizontal as possible during the session. Let gravity work in your favor.
- Ensure proper air hose placement: Make sure the air supply hoses aren’t kinked or blocked, like by sitting on them or having them bent.
- Choose the right Flowell size: The pants are one-size-fits-all but come with extensions if you need them.
- Use cooling recovery methods after your session: If you’d like to include cooling in your recovery, do so about 10 minutes after your session, not before. Cold temperatures can constrict your blood vessels, which isn’t ideal before a massage.
